How GeneSight Testing Works

How GeneSight Testing Works

  • GeneSight Psychotropic is a pharmacogenomic laboratory test that evaluates multiple genes involved in medication metabolism and response, including:

  • ADRA2A, CES1A1, CYP1A2, CYP2B6, CYP2C19, CYP2C9, CYP2D6, CYP3A4, HLA-A3101, HLA-B1502, HTR2A, SLC6A4, UGT1A4, and UGT2B15.

  • These genes may affect how your body processes medications such as:

  • Antidepressants

  • Antipsychotics

  • Anxiolytics

  • Hypnotics

  • Mood stabilizers

  • Stimulant and non-stimulant medications

  • The test also reports on the COMT genotype, which is provided for informational purposes only, as it is not considered a reliable predictor of medication outcomes.
